Welcome Home!

Marty here.

We checked out of the hospital today at noon.  Doris is doing great and received her t-shirt for walking over twelve laps.

After getting back the the sunny side of the bay, we spent a couple hours waiting at Kaiser Oakland to pick up her prescriptions.

I want to thank everyone for your prayers, support, texts, emails and visits.  They really made a difference.  Doris’ video that we posted had over 2,400 views!  We don’t know 2,400 people, so I’m not sure how that happened.

Special shout out to Doris’ friend Pat who helped plant a beautiful succulent garden while she was in the hospital.  Her women’s small group helped sustain her leading up to the surgery and afterwards.

We’ll spend the next few weeks in follow up doctor visits, walks and getting Doris back to health.  Her immune system is low so please no visitors.  We do welcome comments on her blog and facebook!

Welcome home, Doris.

  1. How wonderful! Welcome home! Your journey has been used by God to inspire me and many others. How important for us to be reminded that God is there with us in each and every step, in the mud!

Will continue to pray for complete health and wholeness as your body recovers from the surgery.

  3. What a beautiful garden!! Bless you Pat! What a nice place to sit and get some sunshine this week. So glad you are home, you must be doing fantastic. It just might be that the 2,400 who have seen the video are also from the podcast, as it was posted also on her blog. Shows how many you have already reached with your amazing story of God’s goodness in your life.
