Merry Christmas from the Lews!

Merry Christmas!   Hope you’re all well.  Here’s a look back at 2015.
 
Marty
  • Completed four years of service on the Board of Directors at First Covenant Church (FCC) in Oakland, CA. 
  • Purchased a new commuter car (six speed manual transmission).
  • Leading a great team of vocalists and instrumentalists in worship
  • Enjoying my new kitchen appliance (Sous vide machine).
  • Listening to podcasts on my work commute. Favorites this year include SerialDaily Hope with Rick Warren, and Spilled Milk.
Doris
  • Spending way too much time driving kids to school, soccer, etc.
  • Still fighting kidney disease. Lots of trips to LabCorpUCSF and Wellbound dialysis center.  Hoping to finally get transplant in 2016.
  • Writing Hello Kidney! blog
  • Managing church photo directory project
  • Singing and teaching first graders at FCC Kids Church
Tay
  • Thriving in his sophomore year at Alameda Community Learning Center (ACLC)
  • Got driving learner’s permit.
  • Still a prolific reader. Finding a new passion for writing fiction and poetry. 
  • Enjoying the high school community at First Covenant Church.
  • Summer Day Camp counselor including overnight camp week in South San Franciso, CA.
  • Attended CHIC (Covenant High Schoolers in Christ), a week long conference in Knoxville, TN, with church youth group.
Kyle
  • 8th grader at East Bay Innovation Academy (EBIA). Amazing teachers.
  • Soccer, soccer, soccer. Still training even through winter.
  • New passion for ultimate frisbee.
  • Playing bass drum with EBIA’s Drumline. Fun at Stanford/Notre Dame pre-game, and more appearances in Spring ’16 (Stanford v. Cal basketball halftime show)
  • Attending and helping lead weekly middle school group at FCC.
Family
  • Vacationed at Mammoth Lakes, CA, with Buster and Coco in tow. Great hiking and swimming at Rainbow Falls. Fascinated by ghost town at Bodie, CA.
  • Skiing in Tahoe.
  • Raised support as “The Lew Crew” for the San Francisco Kidney Walk.
